Super Simple Dollar Tree Leaf Centerpiece
Just last week I was not ready to let go of summer yet. Then I got a taste of fall-ish temperatures (by that I mean less than 80 degrees), and now I say BRING IT ON! If I have the option of wearing long pants, I’m a happy camper. Also contributing to my happy fall mood are some recent trips to Dollar Tree. That’s what inspired this quick craft, which cost me $2.50 since I already had a glue gun and glue sticks.
You can buy faux leaves just about everywhere this time of year, it seems. I saw these leaves at Dollar Tree and knew I had to do something with them. I’ve been wanting a fall centerpiece of some sort for my kitchen table, and this is perfect!
I apologize for the lack of photos. I recorded a time-lapse video while I was making this, and it’s also just hard to glue and photograph at the same time.

Okay, so here’s what I used:
- Faux leaves
- Plastic plate
- Glue gun/glue sticks
Seriously, that’s it. I did recently buy these flameless candles, and they are perfect for this. Remember when realistic flameless candles were really expensive? Not so anymore, and I love them!
I bought a pack of four plastic plates from Dollar Tree. They have a lot of different colors, but my goal was to not be able to see the plate, so I figured it didn’t much matter. I went with white. If you want a bigger centerpiece, they do have pretty metallic charger plates. But again, for this particular project I intended to cover the whole thing, so what it looked like didn’t matter. I DID buy a rose gold charger for another project that I’ll share soon!
I bought three packs of leaves because I wasn’t sure how many I’d need, but I think I used the equivalent of one package. I have plenty left over for other projects.
To actually make this centerpiece, all I did was glue the leaves on. I worked from the outside in and made rings of leaves starting with the rim of the plate. I let them hang off the edge of the plate quite a bit to make it appear as big as possible.
I love hot glue because it dries so quickly. As soon as I finished gluing the leaves I was ready to see what it looked like with the candles.
So pretty!
